Bowbridge Homes funded programme with the Mintridge Foundation goes ahead at Windmill Primary School in Raunds
Community is incredibly important to use at Bowbridge Homes, both creating new ones and becoming a part of existing ones. For this reason, we fund at least one programme with the Mintridge Foundation at a school close to each of our developments.
The Mintridge Foundation were due to visit Windmill Primary School (close to our exciting development of new homes in Raunds, Northdale Park) on 4th May, in conjunction with Bowbridge Homes. This was due to be with Dan Powell, a GB para-athlete who represented GB in Judo in the 2012 London Paralymics. Obviously, this was unfortunately cancelled.
However, thanks to the ingenuity and dedication of The Mintridge Foundation, today Dan has been able to start a 6-month remote mentoring programme with some selected pupils from Windmill Primary.
We hope they learn a lot from him and we can’t wait to visit Windmill Primary School with The Mintridge Foundation when schools reopen!
The Mintridge Foundation’s aims are very close to our hearts. They aim to harness the power of positive sport role models. They achieve this through taking sportspeople into schools to run workshops and present to the children, as well as providing ongoing remote mentoring. Many children are able to relate to Mintridge’s sport ambassadors and be inspired by them in relation to their sporting aspirations. However, the messages they give are often important to all aspects of life; resilience, overcoming difficulties, confidence and many many more.
